An interview with comedian & hotel worker Shaquita Griffin

In February, we shared highlights from our oral history interview with one of the incredible people we met while working on the COVID-19 American History Project for the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

We wrote, “as part of an oral history collection focused on hospitality and service workers in New Orleans, Shaquita Griffin shared her experiences of working in hotels, as a comedian, and as a community organizer during the pandemic. While she’s talking about events that happened almost six years ago, her stories and reflections are startlingly relevant today.”
